Food allergies are a more common occurence today than ever. Scientists are not sure why they are occuring more commonly, but the research is ongoing. Healthy children.org explains that any food can cause an allergic reaction, but 90% of allergic reactions are caused by 6 common foods- milk, eggs, soy, tree nuts, soy and wheat. Allergies to fruits and vegetables are much less common and usually less severe.
Allergies may begin soon after birth with the feeding of formula or may begin with the feeding of table foods. They can develop anytime in life.
